Financial Planning Questions

QUESTIONS / ANSWERS

Financial planning is a process, not a product. It is establishing goals, and matching financial tools to those goals, as well as monitoring and adjusting those tools as life inevitably changes. Investing is one of those tools, but is not financial planning.

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals set the standard for ethical and competent personal financial planning. We are held to strict ethical standards to ensure financial planning recommendations are in your best interest. A CFP® professional must acquire several years of experience related to delivering financial planning services to clients, and pass the comprehensive CFP® Certification Exam before they can call themselves a CFP® professional.

While I work with people from many different backgrounds, including those who identify as LGBTQ, my typical client is a Gen X or Millennial woman who would like to assess and improve her financial life.

I meet my clients where they are. Some need to learn at a very basic level and others have been investing for years, but need to take their plan to the next level. I always start by identifying your goals and values and then we work together to craft solutions that are understandable, sustainable, and measurable. I also meet my clients where they are geographically, either in person in the Denver / Colorado Springs area or remotely via video conferencing.

I am a fiduciary financial advisor; not all financial professionals are bound by the fiduciary standard. Fiduciaries are required to put the client’s needs ahead of their own. In other words, I will always do what is in your best interest.
